rate structure

Charles Street Video reserves the right to determine the rate charged for its services for all member and non-member projects. Rates are subject to change without notice. The two most commonly applied rate categories are based on the following rationale:

Artist Rate
This rate generally applies to a member's personal work in video, film, computer-based media or audio. The Artist Rate is intended to encourage experimentation with content, form or technology in any genre. CSV requires that the artist/ member is the director and that he/she retain full copyright ownership and complete editorial control of the project to qualify for the Artist Rate. For example, member projects of a personal, experimental and/ or cultural nature funded by arts councils qualify for this rate.

Intermediate/ Cultural Rate
This rate generally applies to members working on a cultural production where a non-profit, third party retains partial or complete copyright and/or editorial control, or to non-member artists wishing to have "one-off" access to CSV's facilities for creative projects.

Members who have editorial or copyright restrictions, non-cultural funding sources, TV pre-sales or any restrictions or conditions on their project, must make this information known to CSV staff.

Rates for sustained production or post-production projects may be eligible for further discounts. Contact one of the facility managers to discuss this option.
